Camel & Tiger
We make things that get better as you use them.
What we make
Leather notebook covers and hand-bound notes.
You change the note and keep the cover. When a note is full you take it out, slide in a new one, and the cover stays in your hand.
One person makes each piece from start to finish.
The leather
We use vegetable-tanned leather, tanned with plant-based materials rather than heavy chemical processing.
It starts matte. With handling the colour deepens and a lustre comes up. The marks of use stay on it.
Grain and colour differ from hide to hide. Two covers in the same colour will not look identical.
The paper
We chose paper where ink stays on the surface instead of bleeding through.
Cream paper, in dot and plain.
Each book is sewn by hand.
Packing
We pack each order carefully, so that opening it feels like receiving a gift.
